  • What in the world is a 'token'? 'Tokens' are placeholders for text that change from document to document. A good example of when a token would be useful is with a signatory’s name or contact information. You can also seamlessly auto-merge your CRM fields with tokens.
  • What is a 'role'? A role is used to define and assign PandaDoc fields (e.g., signature and date fields) to a specific recipient. For example, you can setup a role called 'Signer.' When you insert fields for your recipient to sign within a template, you will assign the field to 'Signer.' Once you’ve integrated your CRM, the roles and recipients can be auto-assigned.
